Assessment of Parents' Knowledge about Home Health Care Management to Children with Beta Thalassemia Major

Thalassemia is a hereditary condition that affects the formation of globin chains. Beta thalassemia characterized by either total loss manufacture (β-thalassemia major) or partial minor). This type inherited anemias found in Mediterranean and Southeast Asian communities. Objective: Assessment parents' knowledge regarding home health care management related to children with β-Thalassemia Major. Methodology: A descriptive study design was carried out at Center Al-Najaf City during periods 25 ͭͪ February 2021 15 March 2022. Non-probability (purposive) sample (35) parents were selected from center (22 mothers 13 fathers). Results: The finding shows 77.1% are resident urban. monthly income, over than half (54.3%) consider their income be barely sufficient. sources information about disease among parents; (88.6%) getting medical team. demonstrating poor level most domains child beta major. Conclusion: current there significant inadequacy Recommendation: Providing educational guidelines, posters, pamphlets manuals should available each wards encourage get use them.
